A Biloela Wedding

So often we swoon over the finer details of a wedding – the dress, the flowers, the styling of the venue… Although today’s wedding was full of such gorgeous detail, there was something else that made it stand out to me and that was the love of family that photographer Carissa from Capture the Moment Photography so beautifully captured. Thank you Leonie, Max & Carissa for sharing your joyous day with us at Central Queensland Weddings!

Biloela WeddingBiloela WeddingBiloela WeddingHow did you both meet?
Max and I went to Primary School together, and dated for a whole week in Year 6! We met up again 16 years later at our School Reunion.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress.
I found my dress at the first store I looked at. It was number 4 and I knew it was the one straight away, even though it was never a style I would have gone with. I was/am in love with it.
Why did you decide to have your wedding in Central Queensland and why are you glad you did?
My family and Max’s family are all from CQ (along with a lot of the guests!). It was more meaningful for us having it in our local area and a lot easier to organize as well. The fact we chose the same church and reception venue that my parents got married at 30 odd years ago made it more special.
What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in planning your wedding in Central Queensland?
To be honest, I did not find it difficult at all. Moura, Biloela and Rockhampton had all the services I needed. If I wanted something I couldn’t find, the internet was an easy option.
Our favourite detail of the wedding was:
I loved our flowers; from the bouquets to the flowers on the tables. They were perfect! I loved how our family was so heavily involved – from the bridal party, drivers, ushers and readers, and most uniquely having four of my aunties as MC’s.
How many friends, family members, and loved ones attended your wedding?
Approximately 150.
Did you write your own vows? If so, what was your favorite phrase, verse or line?
Yes, we did. We both had the same ones.
My favourite phrase was: “I will be there to laugh with you and to lift you up when you are down, to dream with you and to celebrate with you.”
What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony?
First Reading: A Reading from the Book of Ruth.
Second Reading: A reading from the first letter of St Paul to the Romans.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?
The atmosphere; we, along with the guests were very happy and it set a relaxed and joyful mood. We all had a lot of fun!
What advice do you have for couples currently planning a wedding?
Be organised; there is no such thing as being too organised! The fact that I was and had plenty of lists, and all parties involved knew what they needed to do allowed me to not be stressed on the day. I could enjoy the preparation with my family and bridesmaids.

Emerald Engagement Shoot

Maddie and Clayton are only a few weeks out from their big day and recently had White Ash Photography capture this exciting season for them. It’s not hard to see Maddie will make a stunning bride and we wish them all the love and happiness for their wedding and married life together!

Maddie: Clayton and I are a simple couple. As long as we are together with our two beautiful boys, all smiling and laughing that’s honestly all we need and want. So the thought behind the styling for our engagement photos was simple and we couldn’t go past black and white. To vision it in my mind I could see something simple and elegant. It definitely was a great excuse for us to be together and get dressed up and feel great!

Maddie: “What I’m looking forward to the most about our wedding day, other than the whole day would be our first kiss as husband and wife. We are 4 weeks out from our wedding and I’m so excited I get butterflies everytime I think about the first moment we will get to see each other!”
Clayton: “What I’m looking forward to is the whole celebration and get-together with all of our closest friends and family. We are very grateful to have every single one of them in our lives and blessed they want to share the day with us as well.”
