6 Amazing Places to Marry in CQ – Rockhampton Region

Setting both the date and location are two of the first steps you’ll normally take in your wedding planning journey, and these tasks go hand-in-hand depending on the availability of your chosen venue. If you’re early on in the planning process, we put together the following feature to help you discover some of our region’s top venues to choose from. This list is not exhaustive of course, and a comprehensive venue list can be found in our Wedding Guide. The following six venues are located around the Rockhampton-Yeppoon region and are listed in no particular order of preference, price or quality. We recommend visiting the venues’ websites and contacting their team for more information if you’d like to investigate them further!

Rainy Day Bridal Inspiration with Greenery and Gold

When local vendors get together to create bridal magic, I am always in awe of their ability to inspire and delight the imaginations of brides. Today’s inspiration shoot is an exquisite medley of fine lace, lush greenery, delicate golden accents and an historic, charming backdrop. Set at heritage listed property St Aubins (circa 1870), this rainy day shoot features whimsical new collection dresses from White Lily Couture with designs by Enzoani and Pronovias. The resultant images by Madelyn Holmes Photographics are a modern take on refined wedding elegance.

A Rosslyn Bay Resort Wedding

Stephen and Rosalie met in December 2009 when he was just about set to move to WA for work – he instead stayed here for love and they have been together ever since! Earlier this year they celebrated their wedding day in style at Rosslyn Bay Resort.  The deep marsala hues and florals set off beautifully against the natural wood tones and greenery of the location and styling. The most stunning detail in my opinion? Rosalie’s ‘Gardenia’ Maggie Sottero gown as it sparkled in the warm, CQ sunlight. As someone who has never been a massive beaded or crystal fan, I am now sold as to why they are the perfect bridal embellishment! The shots taken by White Ash Photography at Rosslyn Bay with Rosalie’s dress glistening off the water are breathtaking! Thank you beautiful ladies for sharing your day with us all!rosslyn-bay-weddingrosslyn-bay-weddingrosslyn-bay-wedding

Tell us about finding your wedding dress!
I found my wedding dress on Still White and purchased it from a lovely local girl, it was my dream dress – beautiful beading and simple design.
What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in planning your wedding?
When we were going to have it. I was starting a new job, and couldn’t have it later in the year. It was very hot, but it all worked out well in the end. Our wedding date was the 21st January at Rosslyn Bay (Beaches).
Our favourite detail of the wedding was:
Being able to spend time with family and friends, in a small intimate setting.
How many friends, family members, and loved ones attended your wedding?
It was very small, 45 guests.
The ceremony
Our celebrant helped us with ideas – we had a memory candle and love letter/momento box. We also had a Celtic hand-fasting ceremony in honour of my heritage, this tradition symbolises commitment and teamwork.
